The Rolex Explorer II was designed for speleologists and potholers to distinguish between day-time and night-time. The Rolex Explorer II was also especially useful for explorers in continents with periods of constant daylight or darkness. There’s no doubt that the Rolex Explorer II is a groundbreaking watch. However, for most of us, owning a Rolex Explorer II is simply not possible. To solve this problem, WatchModSquad have created their Custom Built Explorer II, paying homage to the Rolex Explorer II.

WatchModSquad’s homage is made from a 316L stainless steel case and feature’s Rolex’s recognisable arrow shaped orange hand, hour markers and 24-hour graduated bezel, enabling the wearer to separate day-time from night-time. Just like the Rolex Explorer II, WatchModSquad’s homage is powered by an automatic movement, however uses Seiko’s powerful NH35 as opposed to Rolex’s 3230. 

Available in either the Oyster Bracelet or Jubilee Bracelet and priced at £250.
